NO SURRENDER

Andy Griffin says that Newcastle haven't given up hope of winning the Premiership despite losing last weekend.

"We're not going to throw the towel in now - why should we?"

"When Everton beat us on Sunday, it made our situation that much tougher, but our ambition as a squad is to win trophies and that hasn't changed because we dropped two points.

"There's the old cliché that anything can happen in football."
Griffin added: "We're going out to win against Manchester United. If we do that, second place at least is still in the melting pot.

"We'll just see where we end up in May."
