NOT A DAY TOO SOON

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on MUTV:

"It is five weeks since the operation, so it has been about patience, working in the gym and working hard.

"It [the op] had to happen because I was playing on with it and it wasn't doing me any good.

"I have been lucky with injuries in the past, so it is a learning experience. I have got to look at players who have had similar injuries, like Roy Keane, Ruud, Wes and Gary Neville.

"I will just start with walking I suppose. And then it will be a case of taking it one day at a time."

On the championship race:

"I don't think the lads are too worried about what Arsenal or Chelsea are doing because we are just focused on what we have to do and that is the great strength here. We are focusing on what we have to do and that is the next game.

"At the moment it looks as if the three of us are pulling away, but you can never say never in football.

"There might be a surprise, but I think we are consistent enough at the moment and if we are there or there abouts around March-April then that is the decisive time.”
