Darren Fletcher wants United to retain the title next season to show it wasn't luck that won it this year.

"The attitude is that this must be the start of this team showing what we are about," said the Scottish midfielder.

"We will be coming back next season to defend our title and show it wasn't a one-off. We want to show we can put a run of championships together.

"That is why the FA Cup Final is so important as well. A double season would be a fantastic achievement and will help show what we are about.

"The disappointment of Milan is still there. We were one game away from the Champions League final and we did not do ourselves justice that night in Italy.

"But if you look back and say we won the Double and were one game away from a European Cup Final you could say it was a satisfying season."
