NOT LOOKING GOOD

Norwegian paper Dagbladet run a story on United's link up with Norwegian
first division club Oslo Ost.

The co-operation between the worlds biggest club, Manchester United, and
Norwegian division one team Oslo Ost, has turned into a farce.

“We are disappointed about the United deal. The club promised us players,
but nothing happens. I will ask the club (Oslo) to stand up to United, I
always thought a deal was meant to be beneficial for both parts. I want both
players and money” said manager Stein Madsen

“When the deal between the two clubs was set up, everything seemed promising with Alex Ferguson himself making an appearance Since then nothing has happened regarding our first team. United have been here and scouted our young talents, but not contributed one bit towards our first team. The deal has been one sided, and not the way we'd hoped for. We would have liked United to contribute, especially with our current difficult situation,” said Madsen.

Club captain Espen Grina said:
“I've met Sir Alex, but that’s all. I know our youth teams have had visits
from them (United), but i don’t think Oslo Ost has gained anything from the
deal with United. It all sounded great, but we haven’t seen anything from the
deal. There was talk about us getting a United player last season, but it
never happened.”

The article goes on about the financial difficulties the club is in, and
that the players might have to take a salary cut. It doesn’t say anything
about the level of Norwegian first division football being crap, hence no United
player would ever benefit from a loan spell at the club.
