OLD BOYS BACK UNITED IN MILAN

"Milan played well over here and I think they considered it to be one of their best performances of the season," said Bobby Charlton. "They're a strong side but I don't think there's any team strong enough to withstand us if we play really well. There have been a number of times when I've expected our lads to go under. But they've managed to come through and I think they'll be ready for it on Tuesday. What a challenge to go to the San Siro for a place in the quarter-finals - it would be great if we can do it."

Nobby Stiles agrees, "There's no reason why United can't do what we did in Madrid in Milan. Especially with the players we've got in our side like Keane and Scholes. We went to Madrid in the '68 semi-final and even though we were 3-1 down at half-time, we managed to get the result. This thing of thinking we're never beaten is part and parcel of the club. Sir Matt Busby had it and Sir Alex has it - it's ingrained into them."
