United won the over-35s Masters of Britain Regional championship and will now go on to play the winners of the other regions somewhere darn sarf:

Squad: Chris Turner, Viv Anderson, Arthur Albiston, Alan McLoughlin, Mike Thomas, Mike Duxbury, Clayton Blackmore, Brian McClair, Sammy McIlroy, Mark Hughes.

For the record: Blackburn (2-1), Bolton (2-0) bitters (4-3) and drew with Bolton 2-2 in the final before going on to win 5-4 on pens.
