Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he is embracing the pressure that is coming with managing Manchester United, particularly after their high-profile summer transfer window.
The Red Devils were beaten by Aston Villa on Saturday to extend Man Utd's dismal run to three defeats in their last four games.
Solskjaer's squad received a major boost in the transfer market with the arrivals of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Norwegian recognises that he must now deliver, but insists he is not fazed by the weight of expectation on his shoulders.
"The pressure is a privilege," Solskjaer said, via ESPN. "To work in this environment you have to embrace that pressure. Yes I've been backed [in the transfer market] and the backing I have got says to me we are sticking to a plan but we are in a results business.
"Expectations have improved with our signings. We are here to win, don't think twice about that.
"We have an obligation to win here in a certain style, sometimes that is risky and you lose one or two."
United host Villarreal in their second Champions League group game this season on Wednesday. They lost their opening encounter to Young Boys last time out, while they were beaten by this week's opponents in the Europa League final on penalties at the end of last season.
Solskjaer revealed that club captain Harry Maguire is likely to miss the game after picking up a calf injury against Villa, but Luke Shaw could return after he was also forced off in the defeat at the weekend.
