OLE'S PROGRESS

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be fit for Manchester United's Worthington Cup semi-final clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park after reportedly suffering a knee injury in the weekend win over Chelsea.

However even if he's fit he could still miss out on a place in the starting line up to either Giggs or Veron.

They both came off the bench in the 2-1 win over Chelsea at the weekend but should be restored to the starting XI in the Worthington Cup semi-final second leg. Although don't be surprised if Diego Forlan starts as Fergie seems to be more than delighted with his stripping striker.

"Diego changes the speed of the game - he is everywhere," Ferguson said. "His movement, quickness and enthusiasm create a different proposition for the opposition. They are left asking, 'where is he now?'

Players like that are very valuable and Diego has been incredible. Tomorrow, I am looking beyond using him as a substitute."

Provisional Squad: Barthez, Ricardo, Carroll, O'Shea, G Neville, Brown, Blanc, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Beckham, P Neville, Scholes, Keane, Veron, Butt Giggs, Van Nistelrooy, Solskjaer, Forlan, Richardson.
