The Transfer window is open and the speculation has begun.

Ferguson, as ever, is keeping his cards close to his chest:

"If we are going to do something, then we will do it as quietly as possible. "

Elsewhere in the Premiership:

Kevin Keegan is to make a £7m bid to take Robbie Fowler from Leeds United to Manchester City by the end of the week. If the move is successful, he will be paraded at Maine Road before Sunday's FA Cup tie against Liverpool, his old club.

Tottenham still want to bring the Real Madrid forward Fernando Morientes to White Hart Lane.

The West Ham manager Glenn Roeder hopes to have squad reinforcements in place by the end of this week, with another Tottenham forward, Les Ferdinand.

Birmingham look set to complete the signing of French World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry tomorrow. The club have called a press conference for 3pm at St Andrews when the Bordeaux forward is expected to be unveiled.
