'Scholesy had quite a few niggly injuries at the start of the season and missing games can sometimes take the edge off players. But now he has played in quite a few consecutive games and he looks that little bit sharper. But when United play the kind of players Sir Alex played against us today, whichever midfielders and forwards he puts onto the pitch they are all a threat.'
'Scholes puts them in front when we went to sleep and when United go in front it is difficult to get it back. I feel United are firing on all cylinders now and in the last few games they have been beating everybody quite comfortably.'
Ferguson was equally impressed with Scholes' impressive showing.
'It took us time, Bryan set his stall out very well to give us some problems in the first half but we showed patience,' he told said.
