O'SHEA - CHRISTMAS IS VITAL

John O’Shea told Manchester United Radio:

"It’s a vital time for us. We’ve got that nine-point gap to close. It’s the perfect time to do it because there are so many matches in such a close period. You hope that this is where our experience can come to fruition.

"There are seasons gone by when we have come back and closed gaps at the top - possibly where might not have had as strong a squad as we have now. They are the positives that you have to concentrate on. We even have some players still to come back from injury. Our squad will be super strong again. They are the positives that you look for.

"We had a bit of a side-step against Fulham recently, but we have been going full-throttle ahead with the other results we have been getting.

"At this time of the season it is about playing and recovery. The most important thing after the games is rest. You sometimes only have a day before playing your next game. You become accustomed to that over the years, but it is still quite difficult. So it’s a chance for the manager to use the talented squad that we have here.”
