"You can tell there is an edge missing from our game at the moment," he said. "It is unknown for us not to be challenging for the league at this stage but that is not an excuse. We are playing for Manchester United and we should be winning games. We still believe we have a chance of finishing second but just now we're not playing well enough to get it."
"We're not creating enough and we should be stopping the goals and keeping more clean sheets. We are playing for that second spot but at the moment we are not good enough to get it," O'Shea told MUTV.
"It's disappointing but we have to bounce back. We have to win against Chelsea and Aston Villa to stand any chance of getting second place. And we also need some form going into the cup final. You don't want to be going into a cup final not having won your last three league games."
