Despite the corner expansions not even started yet David Gill assures us that that will be the last building work. But haven't we heard all this before:

- Plans to increase Old Trafford's capacity to 75,000 are exciting. But if games are still selling out, would you extend the stadium even further or consider moving to a new ground?

"I think 75,000 is about right because what could we do next? It would mean extending the South Stand and that would have complications because of the railway line and the terraced houses beyond.

"As for the question of moving, I think it would be an absolute non-starter. We're part of the community here, our heritage is here and it's a fantastic stadium on a great site, close to the city centre. We've got well over £100million invested - we wouldn't get that money back - and the cost of building a new stadium would run into hundreds of millions.

"If we increase to 75,000, Old Trafford will retain its mantle as one of the best stadiums in world football with a lot of atmosphere and history."

United starlet Eddie Johnson has joined Coventry City on a season's loan.

The 19-year-old striker becomes the second youngster to join Coventry from the Reds in the last month, although Neil Wood signed a permanent deal with the Sky Blues.

Johnson clocked up his only appearance for the Reds in the Carling Cup against Tottenham last season and is relishing the chance to help Coventry in their promotion push while gaining useful experience in Division One.

"I'm definitely looking forward to it," he told Coventry City's official website.

"I think it will be good for me to get the experience and I'm going to class myself as a Coventry player for the season. My main aim is obviously to do well for myself but I want to do the best for Coventry as well and hopefully get them promoted or at least to the play-offs.

"The gaffer thought it would be a good idea for me to come and get some experience.

"I spoke to him at the end of last season when I came back from Antwerp and he still sees me in his plans but with the strikers they've got - Alan Smith, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Louis Saha -it's difficult to slot in there.

"I've come here to gain my own experience, hopefully do well and take it back to United next year."
