Paul Pogba describes Mason Greenwood as 'best finisher' he's ever played with

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has heaped praise on Mason Greenwood, admitting his finishing ability is the best he’s ever seen in a teammate.

Greenwood has scored three goals in three Premier League appearances so far this season in what has been a blistering start to the new campaign from the 19-year-old.

Pogba has had the privilege of playing with forwards like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, Paulo Dybala and Kylian Mbappe throughout his career. For him though, Greenwood remarkably stands out as the most natural in front of goal.

“I think he is the best finisher that I have seen, that I have trained with so far,” the Frenchman revealed in an interview with Stadium Astro.

“For now, he is the youngest. But he is just unbelievable and I wish he can score more goals and improve and just help us to win the league again. He is very young and very talented, so I want to push him again to become better and better.”

One of Greenwood's great strengths is seemingly not having a weaker foot, giving him the ability to shift the ball to his left or right side - making his next move a nightmare for defenders and goalkeepers to predict.

“I think he is more left-footed, and dribbles more with his left. But to shoot, he shoots with both and his finishing is unreal,” Pogba said.

Fans were perplexed when Greenwood was left out of the senior England squad for this month’s international break, but his club future at United, both now and in the long-term is very bright.

90min has exclusively revealed that United, while retaining a general interest in Erling Haaland, are not yet committing to making an approach for the Borussia Dortmund striker because of the way Greenwood has started the season in a ‘number nine’ role.

He had spent most of his fledgling United career prior to this season operating wide on the right, but led the line from a central position in wins over Leeds and Wolves in August.

With the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo adding further depth up front, United could also make Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani available for transfer when the January window opens.
