Paul Pogba is said to be 'excited' by Manchester United's captures of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, despite ongoing speculation that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford.
The Frenchman's future has been called into question of late - as seems to have become customary since moving back to the Premier League in 2016 - with reports suggesting United are ready to cut ties after he rejected their latest contract offer.
With just one-year remaining on his current deal, the Red Devils were said to be keen to cash in on the World Cup winner to avoid losing him for free when his present contract expires next year.
However - and this is where it gets a little confusing - Sky Sports now report that Pogba is 'excited' by the club's summer transfer business, in particular the signings of Sancho and Varane.
While the suggestions that Pogba is both on his way out of the club and excited by United's new recruits totally contradict themselves, 90min can provide a bit of clarity after recently revealing that he's in no rush to make a decision over his future.
United are preparing yet another contract offer that could make Pogba the highest paid player in the Premier League with a whopping £400,000-a-week deal. but the France international is well aware he'll receive similarly eye-watering offers from other clubs.
Juventus and PSG both keen to secure his services, as are long-term admirers Real Madrid. Pogba, though, is happy to sit back and weigh up his options before choosing where he'll be playing after next summer.
The bumper contract offer being prepared by United has caused friction in the Old Trafford camp, with sections of the club's hierarchy unconvinced that Pogba's deserving of such a huge weekly wage.
However, tying the Frenchman down would negate the need for the club to sell him at a cut-price fee, and it may be that securing his long-term future makes financial sense - in a weird sort of way - as they'll be able to command a loftier price tag than they'd be forced to sell him for this summer.
