Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reported for pre-season duty at the club’s ongoing training camp in Scotland.
The Frenchman’s Old Trafford future remains unresolved but, as things stand, he will be in line to feature when United begin their Premier League campaign. Pogba has been on a delayed summer holiday following his participation at Euro 2020 with France and is among the last few United players to return to training.
The Daily Mail reported that Pogba arrived by taxi at the training camp in St Andrews on Tuesday afternoon. It then appears that the 28-year-old then took part in the session with his teammates, featuring in images released by the club on social media and posting on his own Instagram.
Pogba has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford and has been keen to weigh up and evaluate all of his options before making a decision on his future.
90min first revealed in early July that United have approached Pogba’s camp over a new contract and controversial super-agent Mino Raiola has engaged with the club. But United officials have been split over how to proceed, with some concerned about losing the player as a free agent but others unsure if he is worth retaining on a huge contract potentially worth £400,000 per week.Juventus are interested in re-signing Pogba, while he has been heavily linked with PSG. However, some fans of the latter have protested against an approach owing to his past comments about the club in relation to coming from a family of Marseille fans, while PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino distanced his team from the speculation when quizzed by media earlier this week.
Marcus Rashford and other senior United players are thought to be trying to persuade Pogba to stay at United, while Pogba himself has also been described as ‘excited’ by the summer arrivals of Jadon Sancho and international teammate Raphael Varane.
