'PERVERT'

From The NOTW:

Ferguson raged: "It's unbelievable. The Press would have a field day." Kelly replied: ‘I know, boss. I must be the only security chief in football who has to try and stop the chairman going into the ladies' toilets."

Kelly first became aware of the problem in the Eighties when Edwards visited an SAS barracks to award soccer prizes to soldiers.

"Edwards was seen following a soldier's wife into the ladies. The lad concerned was all for tearing Edwards' head off, but I quietened him down."

Edwards, 57, was caught with a prostitute in Rio at the FIFA World Club Championships in 2000. Another complaint of a ladies' toilet misdemeanour brought him a police caution. Kelly said: "It seemed sad that a potentially great man will now only be remembered as little more than a pervert."
