PHIL NEVILLE WANTS TO GO FURTHER IN EUROPE

"History tells us that we can go a long way in the competition," Phil told the program. "We've got a good record of getting to the quarter finals and semi finals, but we're at that stage now where we need to go further.

"We've been saying it now since 1999 and we need to go on and win three, four or five European Cups like Milan and Real Madrid. We've got bags of experience. Gary has the record number of appearances in the Champions League, and Keane, Giggsy, Scholes and myself have all played more than 50 Champions League matches.

"Our experience has got to help us and, hopefully, unlike last year, we'll do ourselves justice. At the moment we're falling a little bit short in the competition. Not by much, but a bit of concentration here and there. Hopefully we'll be better for the Porto experience. We want to put it right."
