The Sunday Mirror reports that United players were ready to charge into the Arsenal dressing room to defend Fergie's honour.

UWS carried the story on Saturday and the row after the Arsenal match got the back page treatment in yesterday's Mirror.

The Mirror reports that United players had heard that Arsenal's team were wearing t-shirts under their kit bearing the slogan '50 not out', at the end of the game a number of players asked to swap shirts in an effort to embarrass the defeated invincibles. After the players walked from the pitch Ruud said 'hard luck' to Wenger, when Wenger flashed up Ferguson told him to back off; 'Leave my ******* players alone. Look after your own team.' Cue kiddies food fight and United attempts to invade the visitors dressing room.
