Fabien Barthez claims that his move to Marseille has taken ten years of his life. Although he still has to wait to see if Fifa will let him move outside the transfer window.

"It's a choice (of club) I have made with my heart because I need to play to feel good in my everyday life,' said Barthez.

"I did not hesitate for a second when Marseille contacted me. I feel young again here, meeting friends I knew 10 years ago.'

Meanwhile Marseille are trying their best to get FIFA clearance for the move to happen outside the transfer window.

"We have sent a request that Fabien be allowed to play for us which relies on extremely serious and solid arguments," said club president Christophe Bouchet.
