Becks, who's famous for his outlandish hairstyles, has told pals at Manchester United: "I now want to have a Seaman."
A source at the Old Trafford club said: "Becks has been growing his hair and told the lads in the dressing room that he's going to tie it in a ponytail. No one believed him at first but it seems he's adamant he wants the Seaman Look.
"Everyone at the club just hopes it doesn't coincide with a Seaman-style drop in form."
"His hair is noticeably over his collar and in a month he's convinced it will be long enough to tie up.
"He often uses women's plastic hair clips to hold it in place because his hair bands keep slipping off."
Roy Keane and Gary Neville are growing their locks longer too. The insider said:
"Keane is growing his hair and doesn't want to have the close-cropped style any more.
"But I doubt if he's going to go for one of Beckham's mohican styles or a ponytail."
