1. Chelsea
The signing of Jose Mourinho will prove decisive. Mourinho has won at least one trophy each year since the famous Champions League victory with Porto in 2004. With the squads as they are, the race will go down to the wire. However, should Chelsea attain the services of Wayne Rooney I believe they will be comfortable Champions this season. Hazard, Mata and Oscar will prove the difference.
2. Manchester City
City have gone about their business very quietly this summer and will go close to the title. Navas should star, but Jovetic and Negredo could be disappointing. Saying that, I believe they will go extremely close and if Chelsea do not sign Rooney then City may pip them to the post. Pellegrni seems to have restored the dressing room spirit also which is vital after the discord of last season.
3. Manchester United
Although Van Persie may yet again become the leagues top scorer, I don?t think it will be enough for the current champions this year. Moyes will find it difficult in his first season at the club and the pressure will be immense. A tough start will be decisive as Mourinho?s men more often than not get off to a strong start. The loss of Rooney could also decisive this season.
4. Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs came so close last season but were thwarted by a single point in the end. Regardless of the Gareth Bale saga, Tottenham have strengthened extremely well and created a well-rounded side, with potentially more to come. If Bale stays they will come fourth comfortably. If he goes, then it will go close but I still believe Spurs can finish above Arsenal after their lack of activity in the transfer market.
5. Arsenal
Still yet to spend this summer, 2014 could finally see the end of Wenger?s 16 consecutive years in the Champions League. The gunners were saved by a strong run of form towards the end of the season, but I believe that will not be the case this season. The club has released over 20 players this summer and without reinforcements and injuries to players such as Jack Wilshere they could struggle.
6. Liverpool
Liverpool?s two biggest achievements this season will be hanging onto Luis Suarez and finishing above Everton. Their signings so far have been anything but high profile and if they lose Suarez without adequate replacement then they could really suffer. Aspas could prove a surprise package, but Coutinho will have to have a big season if they are to finish any higher than 6th.
7. Everton
Losing David Moyes will be huge, but Martinez is a quality signing and with a squad including Mirallas, Baines, Fellaini and now Kone, I would be surprised if they finished outside the top ten. After finishing above Liverpool last season,I doubt they will be able to repeat the same feat this year.
8. Swansea City
The signing of Bony will prove to be a masterstroke and yet another bargain at the club who contributes vast numbers of goals. Bony and Michu could be the partnership of the season and it would not surprise me if they even pushed for a Europa League spot.
9. Newcastle United
Last season was a difficult one for Newcastle. However, I believe that they can overcome the problems they faced and many of the French players will have become settled now also. The signing of Remy, not unlike Bony could provide a formidable partnership.
10. West Ham United
Signing Andy Carrol was a bold move by the club and they seem to be gvng him every chance with the acquisition of Stewart Downign to provide the service alongside Matt Jarvis. I also expect them to concede a lot of goals this season, but they could notch another top ten finish in two seasons.
11. Norwich City
Norwich have completed some of the best transfer dealings of the summer so far. Gary Hooper, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel, Nathan Redmond and Leroy Fer are all fantastic signings and they will improve on their position from last season. If the forwards strike up a decent partnership they could even sneak into the top 10.
12. Sunderland
The passion of Di Canio will move Sunderland away from the relegation battle of last year. However, he has signed a lot of new players this season and it will take time for them to adapt to his style of play. Similarly, Di Canio is not afraid to ruffle some feathers and some of the new boys may not enjoy that.
13. Southampton
Southampton have pulled off two major coups this summer. Victor Wanyama and Dejan Lovren were both big money signings and I expect especially Lovren to shine this season, not unlike Vertonghen did in his first season. Southampton enjoyed a successful season back in the top flight and I believe they will replicate that form once more this season.
14. Aston Villa
Villa took on a brave stance last year and played a lot of young inexperienced players. However, even after a years worth of experience they will still come up short this season. Christian Benteke will have a good season but not quite the level of last year and Villa will struggle as a result.
15. Fulham
I expect Fulham to have a season not unlike last years with them towards the bottom of the table. They have bought well in Stekelenburg and will not be relegated. However, in Bent, Tarrabt, Berbatov and Ruiz they will have one of the least hard working sides in the league and could suffer as a result.
16. West Bromwich Albion
Anelka will be successful yet again in the Premier league but it will not be enough to propel West Brom up the table. They will be embroiled in a relegation battle but should be safe.
17. Hull City Tigers
The newly named Hull City tigers have bought I na number of players this season. A Tottenham partnership of Livermore and Huddlestone could be extremely successful for the Tigers and I expect them to stay up, just. Danny Graham will have to improve on his form of last season.
18. Cardiff City
Cardiff City will struggle this season. Unlike Hull they have not strengthened enough. Craig Bellamy will have to have a huge season but I feel they will come up short. Steven Caulker moved to the club in order to get more first team football. But, he will have to face conceding a number of goals this season.
19. Stoke City
Mark Hughes has been quiet in pre season. Stoke City were no ones favourite team last season under Tony Pulis and that will not change this season. Stoke needed to change their image and they have not changed enough of the playing staff in order to do so. If Hughes trys to play football with this team they will struggle and I cannot see them surviving.
20. Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace do not look like a team who should be in the Premiership. Their playing staff are simply not good enough. Losing Zaha without loaning him back will be a huge loss and the loan signing of Chamakh from arsenal will not be enough to save them from the drop.
