PSV Eindhoven coach Hiddink insists Manchester United are not the third best side in the top flight. He declared:

“I see Ruud and Alan as the guys who can bring the title back to United. A lot of the talk at the moment is all about Arsenal and Chelsea. Manchester United seem to be rated third best. But I do not see it that way at all. United, with Ruud and Alan up front, have the power and goal potential to finish as top dogs. Ruud will always score goals and create chances for others and that has got to be good news for Alan. Smith is a real nuisance as a player and has lots of aggression. He will be a real handful for defenders and, because they are so busy trying to keep him quiet, they will take their eye off Ruud and give him even more openings to score. “

“Ruud and Alan will be very good together.”
