There are increasingly strong reports that Fiorentina have contacted Manchester United to enquire about Ryan Giggs.

Giggs has been at Old Trafford for the last 15 years, but his contract expires in June 2006 and he could be considering a change of scenery.

Giggs has long been admired in the Peninsula with interest from Juventus and Inter over the years, but ambitious Fiorentina President Diego Della Valle is eager to bring in more star names.

Italian newspapers are suggesting that Giggs’ representatives will meet up with Viola director general Fabrizio Lucchesi over the next few days to work through basic terms.
