"The way the league is shaping up we are going to have to have consistency. Chelsea won today, Arsenal won today and we also won - everyone is waiting for someone to slip up and it is very close.
"We had to win the match today, especially after losing last week, and in the end we deserved to win - we kept our perseverance and kept our momentum going.
"It was never going to be easy with a lot of experienced players against us but I thought we did very well."
"We brought them (Keane, Ronaldo) on to make sure we would not lose the game, to consolidate the central midfield area and stretch them in the wide positions, which we did.
"Ronaldo's goal has been coming because he has put some terrific balls into the box. He really hits them - he is a tremendous hitter of the dead ball.
"Then Roy scored as well, left-footed too - I think even he was surprised!
"Some critics have seized on the changes I made as the reason for our muted display, but my view is that players good enough to be in our squad are good enough to play."

"I thought there was a point in it for us but it was not to be and now we have to pick ourselves up and start all over again, but that's this division - it's tough.
"I thought we played all right generally and matched them though we could have done better with Ronaldo's free-kick, it was well-whipped in but I was disappointed it went in.
"We started the season well and had a great first six games but then we have had a bit of a dicky spell. It's going to be a hard fight to make sure we stay in this division but I am sure we will do it. We have a decent little squad and when everybody is fit we are okay. We have already done the trips to Arsenal and Manchester United now so there's only Chelsea and Liverpool left of the places where you think if you get anything out of it then it's a bonus."

"It started last weekend," he smiled. "Losing the game but scoring a goal and playing a full game is always good. (Ed????????????????)
"It's always nice. As I said before, when you play it is different. When you train hard, it's nice to score the goals.
"I have the same confidence as always. I train hard and try to do the best thing for the team and, if I score, it's going to be good, if not, the team has to win.
"I always try to be fit for playing then the manager is the one who decides. I always try and do well for the team.
"I think it's a big squad with a lot of players so I think everyone has a chance (of playing against Rangers on Tuesday).
"I think it's the same with everyone when they score, the way the team celebrates is really nice."
