"Leicester make you challenge every ball. I knew before the game our defenders were going to have to win the game for us and I think they did that.

About team selection: "We have 60,000 people expecting us to win. In the process I have to give players a game who I feel need games."

About our unlikely goalscorer: "If anything it's only one a season, he'll be putting his boots away for the season now,"

On Ronaldo: "He is marvellous, he's had a fantastic season. We have to make sure we give him a rest at the right time.

"The boy's got great pride, great desire. We have to rein him in and make sure he doesn't get impatient,"

Gaz Nev:

"We don't want to be in a position whereby we have to qualify for the Champions' League. We also want to get nearer to Arsenal. We can't let them win the title by too many points.

"Cristiano was very confident and always wanted the ball. People think you can just settle in at a club like this. He's only 19, but the way he has come from a foreign country and adapted to the English game has been incredible."

Micky Adams:

"We went to Old Trafford and frustrated them for long periods, but we gave away a sloppy goal," said Adams.

"We had chances to score but were not cool, calm and collected when we needed to be in the final third of the pitch.

"I'm happy with the effort though, we've no complaints with the players. We never managed to carve them open and we paid for it in the end."
