"We had to make the changes. Louis Saha got a knee injury last week; [Roy] Keane and [Ruud] van Nistelrooy are still not fit; Ronaldo got a thigh injury in midweek, and Paul Scholes was still suspended.
"The match showed that we missed the goalscorers. We had all that possession and only made two or three chances in the match. With that amount of possession we really need to do better.
"That's where we missed Saha, van Nistelrooy and Scholes. They are proven goalscorers and they were a loss.
"Blackburn probably scored from their one real chance in the game. But it's a difficult place to come, and the atmosphere was terrific for a game that didn't really carry a great deal of importance.
"With Chelsea winning, it's almost impossible to finish above them.
"There are two games to go, and they are four points in front. They are in a fine position in that they only need to draw at Old Trafford against us next week and they have a good record there.
"We want to galvanise ourselves and make sure our form is better going into the FA Cup final."
