SAF: "You can't even comment on those decisions - it's bizarre.
"But the seriousness of it is that those players will miss the first game of next season which is disappointing.
"Otherwise, I think our performance was very good.
"The victory was important confidence-wise (going into next Saturday's FA Cup Final).
"The good thing about today was that Villa had to win the game and we responded well to that.
"The pace of the game was good, and our play from the back to the front was excellent.
"That was our best performance since our away win at Everton in February."
And on the season:
"We can look at several things and the Rio (Ferdinand) suspension on January 17, when we were four points clear, was a pivotal moment in deciding the league.
"It was pivotal, as I've said, we got injuries to Mikael Silvestre and Quinton Fortune and it was a bad time. We had to change the back four around and Gary Neville was suspended too.
"We had all combinations of centre backs at times and it was a difficult period for the team.
"We got through the semi-final though, which was an important game for the club."
O'Dreary: "I think the best team won - United are a class act and they have got quality all over the pitch.
"We gave away goals that we normally don't concede, but the defeat hasn't taken the gloss off of the season.
"I am so proud of my players and to finish sixth is a fantastic achievement for this club.
"The top five are the top five and they sort themselves out.
"And we have finished the best of the rest."
