Diego: "To get my first goal from open play last week to earn a draw, and then get the winner today...well it is very nice.
"The defenders gave me time and space to shoot and I just tried to get it on target."
Fergie: "We're having to fight every inch of the way at the moment," Ferguson admitted, "but we never quit. That was an important result and, hopefully, we can get up and going to chase the leaders.
"If we'd had another five or ten minutes in the lead I think we could have gone on and consolidated a position. But that's the kind of season it's been for us - we are not getting things easy and we have had to fight every inch of the way. One thing you have to admire about us that we do is we never quit and we went right to the wire there. If any team is going to get something out of us they are going to have to work really hard to do it.
"We were wasteful of a lot of our chances but we scored a wonder goal. Diego hit it right on the meat and it looked to me it was going over the bar but it must have dipped really quickly to be a goal, well done Diego very good! I was pleased for the boy, as soon as he came on he had two strikes on goal right away, one just maybe hit the side of the post and one went just over the bar. But he was wanting to shoot all the time and thats a great quality to have. I thought he was a bit tired on Tuesday night in Cyprus, with two quick games it's caught him a little bit, but none the less he's had a great day.”
