Fergie:
"I said some weeks ago that if our away form improves then we've got a big chance. I think it was a matter of not making mistakes. We knew if we defended properly we were going to win the match. We were in a winning position and we just played counter-attack really. We played with good possession at times and really we made sure we controlled it.
"We felt that Ryan, from that position and with his pace, was causing them bother. And I think he proved himself in the first half. He kept popping up in areas that they couldn't handle and he ran at them a lot which turned them on the back foot. He's had a really good performance for us today.
"Fabien’s got a sore one, he's got a lot of swelling, but hopefully we can get him ready for the Derby. We don't think he'll be fit for Tuesday, but we'll have to do our best.
"I think the important thing is that we do our job right. I said this some weeks ago. If we concentrate on what Manchester United can do then we'll have a big chance.
"Well, there's going to be a great atmosphere there and all we've got to concentrate on is doing our job properly. There's good signs with the performance of the team."
"He (Giggs) kept popping up in areas where they couldn't handle him. He ran at them and turned them on their back foot. It was a really good performance.
"That is three goals in two games for him now and we are very pleased.
"Hopefully it's just a bad kick that Barthez's got, but we'll know more later on.
"Fabien Barthez has got a lot of swelling. Hopefully we can get him ready for the derby (against City next weekend) but I don't think he will be fit for Tuesday."
And the ginger haired, banana eating one:
"I was pleased with the first half - it went according to plan apart from the two goals.
"We've done well in the first half and for the first 15 minutes of the second half, we've done well again.
"And then all the energy we'd used to try and get the performance we did get for an hour was sapped out of us at the end.
"We were struggling at the end and they were comfortable winners for the last half-hour."
“I've got nothing to say about him, (meaning the ref about the disputed penalty)
"I've seen it (the penalty) and he's come in behind him so that gave them a wee bit of luck, but the good thing about that was for the next 10 minutes we got everything, but we didn't use our opportunities very well.
"I think one goal would have pepped them up a bit, but they were still there at the end plugging away, so fair play to them.
"I must admit for the first hour I thought the players put a far better showing in than they did against Liverpool.
"The first goal was a bit of a comedy really and the second one was a bit unlucky because Ryan had a shot and it rebounded right back to him."
