‘Leeds United will replay their tie with Wigan after a 1-1 draw at the JJB Stadium. Liam Miller completed 90 minutes after extending his loan spell, and came close to scoring with a powerful drive.

Jonathan Spector completed 90 minutes for Charlton in their 4-2 win at Hillsbrough against Sheffield Wednesday.


Mads Timm made his debut for Walsall in the third round draw at Barnsley.

Bolton ran out 3-0 winners at Watford despite the best efforts of Ben Foster and Chris Eagles, the latter of whom was making his first start since ending his previous loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

Paul McShane came close to equalising for Brighton, but the Seagulls slipped out of the cup by virtue of a 1-0 home defeat to Coventry.

Eddie Johnson played no part in Crewe's 2-1 third round defeat to Preston North End.


In League One, Phil Picken completed 90 minutes for Chesterfield in their 1-0 win over Bradford. A late goal from Adam Smith ended a run of eight straight league draws for the Spireites.'


Two other United youngsters are currently serving exile in Belgium:

Adam Eckersley and Richard Jones are both on loan to Royal Antwerp until the end of May.
