"Sir Alex Ferguson said to me that he thinks it will be good experience for me to go out on loan and get experience for next season.
"Eventually I want to go back and challenge at United, but at the moment I am a West Brom player and want to give 100 per cent and try to keep them up in the Premiership.
"You've got Paul Scholes and Roy Keane in the United dressing room and it is intimidating, but they started off the same way as myself.
"All you can do is learn from them and take advice from them and go out there and do the business.
"One day I want to take their place but at the moment I am a West Brom player and want to gain experience and hopefully go back to Manchester United a better player."
