Ferdinand made it to the sub’s bench for Saturday’s defeat at Anfield, but he was not used, the week before he missed the trip to Arsenal with a back problem.
But now he is back at full fitness Ferguson will consider using him against the Potters.
Fergie told MUTV: "Rio only had one real training session on Friday and we couldn't gamble with only that preparation behind him [for the FA Cup clash].
"He'll train tomorrow and on Monday and could be ready for Tuesday."
