Rio Ferdinand's doping case got underway yesterday at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton. The proceedings have been shrouded by secrecy by the FA with a verdict due at some point today. It's believed that Rio will argue his case in today while yesterday the FA gave eveidence against the forgetful one.

The hearing started at 7:30 yesterday when the tribunal visited Carrington before moving on to the Reebok Stadium later in the morning. The panel visited Carrington so that they could se where the testers were based and how Rio managed to leave the training ground without them noticing. Proceedings took place until about 6pm. The press have been kept firmly at bay with only PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor airing his views about the case. Averdict is expected to be reached this evening.
