Wenger complained to anyone who would listen that Ljungberg and Reyes would be out for weeks, turns out he was lying and they were out for a matter of hours.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is hopeful that Fredrik Ljungberg and Jose Antonio Reyes will be fit in time for tonight's Champions League semi-final clash with Chelsea at Highbury.

The players were injured during the FA Cup semi-final defeat against Manchester United at Villa Park on Saturday.

But both were able to train today and Wenger has delayed a decision on whether they can be involved or not.

'They are in the squad, but no decision has been made yet,' Wenger told a press conference.

'They practiced this morning, but I don't know how they have responded pain-wise. At the moment we are waiting to see how they react to training today. “
