RONALDINHO WANTS TO PLAY FOR UNITED

The most dragged out transfer of the summer looks as if
it may finally be reaching a conclusion. Roberto Assis,
his agent, said yesterday:

“Ronaldinho wants to go to Manchester United. Now it is
just a question of waiting for the deal to be completed.
PSG have an offer from Manchester United and we are
waiting for a reply.

“I have to talk with the PSG president Francis Graille
because Ronaldinho wants the situation concluded. We are
working towards that and now it is just a question of
timing.”

The Super soar-away Sun report that we have offered him
£15m after tax over the next five years. Apparently he
will be on £60’000 per week net and we will pay £15m up
front to PSG with an extra £1.5m if United win the
Champions League and £750,000 if we reach the final. PSG
will get another £1m if we win the league and £500’000 if
we win the FA Cup.

Meanwhile PSG have fined Ronaldinho for not returning to
pre-season training.

"Ronnie was set to re-join his team-mates on July 10
after benefiting from two weeks holiday following
Brazil's elimination from the Confederations Cup, but is
not yet here," read a statement on the PSG club website.

"He will, therefore, be punished. His attitude shows a
lack of respect for PSG.

"Concerning his future, we would like to keep him and, at
the moment, we have only received written offers from
Barcelona and Chelsea.

"There have been many rumours suggesting we have done a
deal with Manchester United, but we have not yet received
anything."

Barcelona vice-president Sandro Rosell has attempted to
throw a spanner in the works. The cheeky scamp had this
to say:

“I’ve told Ronaldinho's agent Manchester is a very
inappropriate city to think of going to because it rains
all the time and there is no beach.”
