From the MEN:

Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo could line up together for the first time since their World Cup bust-up when Manchester United take a team to play Conference side Oxford tonight.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has refused to confirm whether the Portuguese star will make his first pre-season appearance but he has said that Mikael Silvestre and Louis Saha, who returned to training alongside Ronaldo last week, will turn out.

From the Sun:

Ronaldo has been pulled out of tonight's friendly at Oxford United amid security fears.

The Portuguese star was expected to play for Manchester United after boss Alex Ferguson left him at home for the Amsterdam tournament last week.
But with a potentially hostile crowd at the 10,000 Kassam Stadium, it was decided to delay his return to football.

Police confirmed they will not be at the game, indicating that Ronaldo will be staying away.

Had he been playing the club admitted they would have had to review security.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “We have liaised with both clubs. At present there are no indentified risks. It will remain a police-free game.”
