After the Croatia match Becks pulled me to one side and told me he knew what it would be like and what I should expect."
Rooney added: "Becks is a really good captain. He certainly knows what he is talking about and deserves to be England captain for years. In these tournaments it’s all about preparation and you see so many little things and pick up so much from him. For example, he told us that when we scored, because it was so hot out there and we needed drinks, we should run to the corner flag and walk back so we all got a rest. He was always a huge help and having a few words here and there about things."
