Speaking on his latest podcast episode, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney urged his former club to appoint Thomas Tuchel as their next permanent manager this summer.
While Michael Carrick is the man in charge for now, Rooney believes Tuchel’s Premier League experience and trophy-winning pedigree make him the ideal successor.
"He knows the league, he’s won the big ones," Rooney stated, adding that while Carrick will do a good job as an interim, the club needs a "heavyweight" for 2026/27.
