Wayne Rooney, "I always think I can improve as a player. I think I had a good season last season, but it was disappointing as a whole for the team. This time I've got a good pre-season behind me. That's important because if you miss pre-season then you are always playing catch-up.
"I found it easy to settle in last year. Everyone at the club has really helped me. Sometimes players move to a club and it is a long distance away; you're uprooted from your home and your family.
"But, being at United, I'm only about thirty miles away from where I grew up. I can still go back and see my family and friends."
