ROONEY TO DEBUT AGAINST SCOUSERS

Rooney will have a scan today which will apparently determine whether or not he’ll be fit to play against Liverpool in three weeks time. Quite what went on in the medical he had is anyone’s guess – did they not think to check his injury?
"We don't know exactly when Wayne will be available,'' said Fergie, "He'll go for another scan, then it will be much clearer. He is not far away. We think it is only a matter of two or three weeks because he has been doing some running and trained yesterday morning but we will be better placed to assess it later today.''
