ROONEY'S FORMER AGENT 'TO SUE' HIS PRESENT ONE

More from today's Mirror:

Paul Stretford will be issued with a High Court writ in the next 10 days for allegedly poaching the Manchester United striker.

Peter McIntosh, the Liverpool-based agent who originally represented Rooney, claims Stretford signed up Rooney and his family while the player was still under contract to him. That's a breach of football rules for which Stretford has already been charged by the FA.

McIntosh's £10m claim is based on the £1.5m commission Stretford earned from Rooney's £27m transfer from Everton to Manchester United last year, loss of earnings, a cut of future revenues, damages and legal costs. Solicitor Paul Thomas of Quinn Barrow confirmed: "We plan to issue the writ on behalf of Peter McIntosh against Paul Stretford and his companies within the next 10 days."
