The Old Trafford striker returns to training on Tuesday after a three-month lay-off with an Achilles injury.
Ferguson said: "It will be great to have Ruud back after such a long period out, especially as we have so many big games coming up. Ruud’s return comes at a good time to hand us an extra boost as Alan Smith will also be back in full training on Monday after his ankle knock."
Ferguson added: "It was an awkward injury and you have to be absolutely sure you have got it right before bringing Ruud back. We have been in close contact with the physio in Holland and been kept fully informed over what he was doing. Ruud has been tested and has not felt any reaction, and it will be good to see him back here this week."
