RUUD NOT FOR SALE

When will these crap rumours linking any decent player with
n £x million pound move to Chelsea stop? Most likely when
hell freezes over.

Peter Kenyon has denied that Van Nistelrooy is for sale:

“Clearly Ruud is not for sale at any value from our point of
view. He is an essential part of our squad and is one of
those players who is not for sale. Even if Chelsea came up
with a ridiculous offer I think the answer would still be
no. We have to look at it in terms of where our squad is and
the investments we have made, and clearly what ultimately
drives all our business and all our activities is the
football team and its success.

“You couldn't replace a van Nistelrooy - there isn't another
one around, and therefore he is not for sale. Whatever way
you measure Ruud he is an exception and we hope he will
continue to play for Manchester United for many years to
come.

“The official line is that he is with us, he is on tour, he
is training and we've not had any official approaches. It is
not something we've addressed because there has been no
offer and from our point of view we have not put him on the
market. These things change, but there has been lots of
speculation and that is just another one at the moment.

“Chelsea have been linked with so many players and this is
going to be one of their problems - everybody will be trying
to make a market out of them because they have invested and
have some money. They'll be tagged with the same thing we
have been tagged with for a few years, which is that if you
are involved it is going to cost you an awful lot of money.”

Kenyon also said he doesn’t believe that Raul would be
coming to Old Trafford, or anywhere else:

“Someone like Raul is never going to leave Real so I wonder
how much is reality versus hype.”
