"You don't need to help Cristiano - you just stay out of his way and let him get on with it. He was brilliant. He's so quick and gets the ball away from the feet of defenders and they don't know he's gone.
"All the crowd were against him but the free-kick decisions were right. Apart from Ronaldo, none of us played that brilliantly. But we fought and didn't give anything away in defence or midfield. And we know that, if we keep the clean sheet, it's up to the strikers to score.
"Once we did that the game was there for us - which was important after the disappointing way we lost at Southampton. Yesterday, we worked together, to make sure they wouldn't score and hoped we would."
