"All the speculation about my future bothers me because I am committed to United. I want the fans and the club to know that I am loyal to United - I can't stop speculation but my commitment to this club is there for all to see."

"I am in my 12th season as a pro and, although over the years you work out what's best for you, there are some times when I have to check that my own drive and desire are in balance.

"Last season was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. It’s especially hard when you’re injured and can’t do anything about it and you see everybody fit and playing. But I also had some disappointing performances, and my situation at the moment, it’s not nice. But it’s good to have had a break and come back fresh, and that’s what this feels like, a fresh start for me. If I can stay fit and play a run of games and get some rhythm, I can do well again.

"Last season when I was struggling there were times I thought 'Jesus, this hasn't really been normal at all'.

"The years have been so good that I now look back in a different way and when things go badly it makes you realise just what you have to achieve to be on top of the game for such a long time. That's now my biggest goal - to get back there and stay there and I can do that. I have had a good summer break and come back fit. After last season it has been good to get away and come back and start afresh."
