Sparta defender Jiri Homola has admitted his ability to not see a man dressed in red standing 6' 2" in height cost his team dear on Wednesday night.

"I'm still not over it,"

"Van Nistelrooy was going slowly, like he was coming from a pub.

"I wanted to keep the ball in the defence, so passed it to (Jaromir) Blazek, but I simply had no idea Van Nistelrooy was there.

"I passed the ball without looking," Homola admitted. "I spoiled the entire match for my team."

It seems Homola comes form the William Prunier school of defending as his
coach Frantisek Straka explained.

"I'm not going to knock him out,"

"I will not hurt him or bother him with this.

"He made a mistake in Budapest against Ferencvaros, but made amends for us
with a winner in the second leg.

"I believe he will do the same and repair his mistake now as well."
