The Sun headlines this morning screamed that Ruud would find out today if the FA will take action over his goal celebration at Charlton.

‘The Manchester United striker was mobbed by team-mates in front of traveling fans after scoring his side’s second goal in the 3-1 win at Charlton on Saturday.

But a steward was injured when an advertising hoarding collapsed. The FA will make a decision after receiving ref Mike Riley’s report.

An FA spokesman said: “We are waiting to hear from the referee before making any comment.”

Police, who made two arrests, have spoken to witnesses and asked Riley to include the incident in his report.

Van Nistelrooy was yellow-carded but it is unlikely that he will face any further action from police.
