Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to win the World Cup for Holland and thinks he'll do well in the team.

"It's about time we won the World Cup," said van Nistelrooy. "In the past we have had a great record, twice getting to the final, but we want to finally win it, and I believe this year could be that time. "It's great to be working with a young coach like van Basten. I like how he approaches football, with new, fresh ideas, hich can only be beneficial to the Dutch team.

"He is working on a completely new playing concept and wants us to play in a specific style.

"Van Basten has brought in 17 young players and they have to meet his high standards. It's a completely new route we're following with hungry young players and we're seeing the benefits of that."

And on the Dutch's formation he said:

"You can compare the system we play with the national team to the one United play," said van Nistelrooy. "That's three midfield players with one controlling the middle, plus three players in attack.

"It's the same fast, attacking football, with lots of movement off the ball and quick distribution.

It's a really attacking philosophy and hopefully it will pay off when we play Serbia in our first game."
