From Soccernet:

‘A rising Manchester United and England Under-21 star,
killed in a high-speed motorway crash, was nearly twice the
legal drink-drive limit, an inquest heard today. Jimmy
Davis, 21, was on his way to the opening game of the season
when he slammed into the back of a 32-tonne articulated
lorry on the M40 in Oxfordshire last August.

‘Some 500 people attended his funeral in Worcestershire last
year including United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and star
players such as David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Sir
Alex described him as 'a player with real potential and
great promise.'
